A charity gala brings formal and celebratory moments into one programme. SWA’s own recap provides a named hosting credit.
The Singapore Women’s Association names James Yang as Master of Ceremonies for its 48th Annual Charity Gala Dinner in 2025.
Source and role summary
The SWA recap, by Lee Li Hua and published on 19 July 2025, describes a Shanghai Tang theme, formal speeches, entertainment and Miss Singapore Pageant International segments. It names James Yang as Master of Ceremonies and Speaker of Parliament Mr Seah Kian Peng as Guest of Honour. The byline is a publication date, not an asserted date for the event.
Planning a charity gala with an emcee
When preparing a gala, identify who approves introductions, confirms names and titles, and communicates changes to the host. Check who runs any fundraising, awards or entertainment segments. Discuss the required hosting tone and language scope, then agree the preparation and production handovers for your actual programme. A public official’s attendance is event context, not an endorsement of a supplier.
