Planner guide
What to include when requesting an emcee quote.
The information that leads to an accurate quote from a professional emcee, and the questions worth asking before you commit.

Getting an accurate emcee quote for a corporate event in Singapore depends on the information you provide in your initial brief. This guide covers the details an emcee needs to give you a realistic figure, the questions you should ask before committing, and how to structure your brief so you can compare quotes meaningfully.
What to include in your emcee brief
An emcee who quotes without knowing your event is guessing. The following details lead to an accurate, comparable quote.
The date, the start time, the expected end time, and whether the emcee is needed for a pre-event sound check or rehearsal.
Gala dinner, conference, D&D, product launch, award ceremony, townhall or hybrid event. Each format has different preparation requirements.
The hotel or venue name, whether it is a ballroom, auditorium, boardroom or outdoor space, and whether it is in Singapore or overseas.
How many guests, and who they are: internal staff, external clients, VIPs, media, international delegates or a mix.
English only, bilingual English and Mandarin, or a specific dialect needed for certain segments.
Whether you need the emcee to host the full programme, specific segments only, or also help design the programme flow and write the hosting script.
A Guest of Honour protocol, a product reveal sequence, games and lucky draw management, media Q&A moderation, or audio and DJ support.
What affects the quote
Emcee rates in Singapore are not a fixed menu. The following factors affect the figure, and understanding them helps you compare quotes accurately.
A 90-minute product launch with one AV cue is simpler than a 4-hour gala with 30 award presentations, a Guest of Honour, and a charity auction. The preparation and on-stage workload are different.
If the emcee is designing the programme flow, writing the full hosting script, creating game formats and coordinating with multiple vendors, the preparation time is higher than hosting from a client-supplied run sheet.
The Singapore corporate event season peaks from October to February. Popular dates, especially Fridays and Saturdays in November and December, fill early and may command different availability.
A full-day event or a programme that requires an afternoon production rehearsal involves more hours than a 2-hour evening dinner segment.
Events outside Singapore involve travel time, accommodation and schedule blocking that affect the overall engagement.
Questions to ask before committing
Confirm whether the quote covers pre-event planning meetings, script writing, rehearsal attendance, full programme hosting, or only specific segments.
At least one dedicated planning call should be standard. For complex programmes, ask whether additional sessions are included.
Events get postponed. Know the terms before you commit.
Some emcees offer an emcee-plus-DJ package. Others work with your venue's AV. Clarify before comparing quotes.
With larger agencies, the person you meet during the pitch may not be the person who shows up. Confirm.
